is there a way to register my domain with ICANN directly or view a registered domain on the ICANN site?
Question by jacobjohnfrance: is there a way to register my domain with ICANN directly or view a registered domain on the ICANN site?
i have registered quite a few domains with Godaddy, but that doesn’t give me any sense of security if someone decides to steal or hijacks them somehow. is there a listing in ICANN or somwhere similar which proves my ownership of the domain? i already know about whois and that isn’t what I’m looking for. thanks!

Don’t trust any cheap service, many of them don’t allow you to have full control on your domain name. If you’re going to buy domain names, http://www.goldpuma.com is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you ($ 9.99). They offer free extras with every domain name:
Hosting with Web site builder
Personalized Email Account
Starter Web Page For Sale/ Parked Page
100-Pack Email Forwarding
Total DNS Control
Change of Registration
